About UsThe Houston School of Flowers is a floral design school offering training classes for floral skill development. Floral Arrangement, Wedding Design, Sympathy Design, and Shop Management are our offered classes. Students may attend individual classes or enroll in all 4 classes simultaneously during a two-week session. The founder of the Houston School of Flowers is Certified Floral Designer, Pat Hermes. She was the principal instructor at the Houston School of Flowers for 28 years. She instructed floral design for Rice University's Department of Continuing Studies and her designs have been photographed and published by the Houston Chronicle in 12 featured articles. Our director and teacher, Caroline Doré, began her journey with floral design when she attended Pat's Floral Arrangement Class. She grew up loving artistic design and nature. After completing all of Houston School of Flower’s classes, she gained her Certified Floral Designer certification. She worked for a prominent floral company in Birmingham, Alabama, where she created captivating floral arrangements for weddings, special events, and funerals. She worked as a photographer, which ignited her creative passions further and led her to a career that brings meaningful joy into the lives of others. The Houston School of Flowers provides a welcoming setting in which to create freely and gain state-of-the-art floral industry experience. |
